Web 2.0 Characteristics

·         User-centered

·         Data driven

·         Enabling collaboration and participation

 

Mashups

·         Combine or remix content from more than one source

·         Dynamic (can cause a challenge for teachers)

·         Need to know some programming to do it

Project Based Learning

·         Centrality- you have to have a goal. Project based learning is different from problem based learning because at the end you have to have a product. (in problem-based learning it is more about the process)

·         A driving question

·         Authenticity

·         Constructive investigation

·         Student autonomy (Thomas, 2000)

Development Process

Many different models for the development process that range from more linear knowledge to a more agile approach. A rapid prototype approach involves getting clients to look at prototypes (whether it be a sketch, story board, or a more technical version) early on to discuss their likes and dislikes.

·         Who had the final say

·         Does the site exist?

·         What content materials are available?

·         What media is available & where to get media materials?

 

·         Evaluate existing site/ gathering info

·         Develop flowchart

·         Develop scenario/ persona

·         Develop a wireframe/ storyboard
